Day 3 – Five km paddle and a Chaser

We thought today would be cruisy. Nope.

Straight after breakfast we did a 5 km paddle with the canoeing leader. Had to stay in formation and work as a team. My arms were wrecked, but apparently we passed the test for expo.

Then came chaos: packing barrels for our trip to Cooinda Island. My sleeping mat didn’t fit, but apparently crashing on a groundsheet is normal.

After lunch we split into groups to head over. I got to ride the Chaser, a super-fast speedboat. Spray in your face, wind everywhere — unreal.

When we landed, Island Director Tim was waiting with damper and hammocks. There’s also a bike you can pedal to power the lights. Not efficient, but hilarious.

Tonight we’re cooking “island lasagne” and planning cards around the fire. No wake-up whistle tomorrow, yay.
